The opportunity
Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.
How you’ll make an impact
1. Elaboration of innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes
2. Execution of design work by means of 3D creation and simulation
3. Collaborate with globally distributed partners, e.g., product Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Lines and R&D Centers
4. Execute technical product documentation by means of reports and instructions
5. Prepare suitable and novel technologies in the field of mechanics for product development through collaboration, elaboration, and testing
6. Analyze and solve interdisciplinary problems in test laboratories and in the production line
Your background
1. You hold a Mechanical Engineering degree; apprenticeship in mechanical design is a plus
2. Experience and interest in working with 3D CAD design, ERP, and PLM software and tools
3. Project management and good communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
4. Hands-on, creative, independent, and solution-oriented professional
5. Ability to perform and supervise mechanical simulation activities
6. Knowledge regarding quality, reliability, and/or manufacturing / assembly is a plus
