Job Responsibilities
* Embedded software development for modules, including maintenance, bug fixing, and implementing new features.
* Electronic development from schematic design to system integration for new and existing instruments and technologies.
* Concept development of electronic modules, including proactive proposals based on customer and service feedback.
* Creation of technical specifications, design, and verification documents following the process from feasibility setup to final unit.
* Performing and documenting feasibility studies and verification tests of instrument modules during the development phase.
* Supporting the product throughout its lifecycle after launch.
* Redesigning PCBs due to end-of-life and 2nd source considerations.
* Migrating firmware code to a new microcontroller platform.
* Analyzing code of complex electronic modules.
* Conducting root cause analysis of field and production issues.
* Collaborating with experts from different disciplines, departments, and external partners.
Must Haves
* Hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering with a focus on firmware development or comparable studies.
* Experience in embedded software development in C (experience with STM microcontrollers is a plus).
* At least 5 years of experience in analog electronic design.
* Knowledge in motion control, especially stepper motors.
* Ideally, knowledge in thermal regulation and Peltier applications.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English; German is a plus.
* Very independent and structured working style, self-initiative, and enjoyment of teamwork.
