With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (D-MA) includes the anaesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, adult intensive care, and adult emergency services. It fulfils a fourfold mission through its services, which provide expertise in frequent interaction with the entire Geneva University Hospitals, thanks to a cross-disciplinary platform, aiming to ensure the best possible patient care.
The Intensive Care Service cares for adult patients who present or are at immediate risk of developing vital organ failure due to a pathology or its complications, whether medical or surgical, and whose life is generally at risk. It also advises and intervenes when needed during resuscitation situations in other HUG departments and participates in urgent hospital interventions.
Dietitian in Clinical Research in the Adult Intensive Care Unit - 40%
You will join the Acute Medicine Department of the HUG, within the Intensive Care Service, and become part of a dynamic and highly qualified interprofessional research team (doctors, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists).
At the interface between clinical practice and research, you will actively participate in nutrition and metabolism projects aimed at improving the care of critically ill patients.
You will coordinate research studies on site: screening, obtaining consent from relatives and patients, patient inclusion, and implementation of nutritional interventions in interprofessional collaboration.
You will collect, enter, and manage research data.
You will train medical and nursing teams within the framework of ongoing study protocols.
You will collaborate with other participating centres in multicentre studies.
Qualifications You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross. Right to practice in the canton of Geneva.
You are proactive, adaptable, and demonstrate autonomy. You have experience in acute care or hospital settings. You are proficient in indirect calorimetry and bioelectrical impedance measurements. You have good computer skills (Word, Excel). Experience in clinical research and certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) level I are assets.
