Position Summary As a Food Safety Microbiology Intern, you will contribute to experimental design, method development, and validation activities supporting food safety and process innovation. Your work will span lab protocols, microbial behavior studies, and thermal inactivation testing. Help define and verify surrogate strain testing procedures
Investigate qualification of new surrogates for novel process technologies
Contribute to refining validation tools and protocols
Help create training materials Study bacterial growth and nitrate-to-nitrite reduction in non-dairy solutions Assess effect of non-dairy matrix on bacterial growth
Perform challenge tests on sugar-based non-dairy solutions
Help determine nitrate-to-nitrite reduction during storage Assist with thermal inactivation studies Conduct experiments on Salmonella and surrogates in high-oil solutions to determine inactivation kinetics What will make you successful Bachelor’s degree or master’s student in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food safety or related field
Microbiological laboratory experience acquired in corporate or academic environment
Experience or strong interest in working with nutrition and dairy products
Good communication skills
