We are looking for a team-oriented, inquisitive, and self-reliant person for our BGE (Blood Gas & Electrolytes) Sensor Development Team.
About the Team
Our «BGE Sensors & Electrodes» team develops, characterizes, and optimizes electrochemical sensors for medical devices in IVD diagnostics, focusing on gases (O2 & CO2), electrolytes (pH, Na+, K+, Ca2+ & Cl-), and metabolites (Glucose & Lactate) in whole blood.
We utilize electrochemical, optical, and enzymatic measuring principles to analyze whole blood, developing new sensors based on theoretical understanding, supporting series production, and addressing product issues.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has a higher technical education with initial industry experience, interest and experience in testing and optimizing complex technical systems, and familiarity with (electro)chemical laboratory environments and analysis techniques. Fluency in English and proficiency in German are required.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Sensor Development Team in activities such as sensor characterization, testing, and production support.
2. Maintain and improve our complex fluidic sensor test setups, including designing and testing measurement workflows, troubleshooting, and proposing hardware and software updates.
3. Plan, execute, and evaluate experiments, documenting work within development processes.
4. Develop new tools, methods, and processes to evaluate sensor performance.
5. Provide scientific and practical expertise to solve technical issues in development and testing.
6. Support development of metabolic and ion-sensitive sensors through analytical analysis, electrochemical measurements, data analysis, and documentation.
Must Haves
* Higher technical education (Bachelor/Master) in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Microtechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Physics) with industry experience.
* Interest or experience in testing and optimizing complex systems (fluidic, electronic, software, mechanical).
* Analytical, inquisitive personality capable of understanding complex issues quickly.
* Experience in (electro)chemical labs and analysis techniques; electrochemical methods are a plus.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to document results at a high technical level, report data and ideas, and work in a regulated environment.
* Open, flexible, team-oriented, and ownership-driven attitude.
* Fluent in one language (German or English) and proficient in the other.
