Logistic Director
Location: Rolle, Switzerland
This role focuses on managing the supply chain and logistics of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products across global manufacturing locations, ensuring efficient delivery to customers. You'll also optimize product supply for improved business profitability.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the COO of End-to-End Operations & Supply Chain for EMEA Animal Nutrition and Pet Solutions, you'll collaborate with plant directors, operations teams, business managers, and the Customer Service & S&OP EMEA Director.
As the Director of Logistics, your responsibilities include overseeing inbound/outbound inventory, 20+ warehousing operations, 3PL partnerships, transportation logistics, and co-manufacturer management. You'll ensure smooth flows, operational excellence, and cost optimization while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Tasks:
* Develop and implement inventory control strategies, collaborating with procurement and production teams to optimize stock levels and cash flow.
* Manage co-manufacturers and 3PL partnerships, ensuring secure and cost-effective supply chains.
* Oversee warehouse operations, implementing best practices for layout, organization, and safety.
* Build and manage relationships with 3PL providers, optimizing transportation routes and costs.
* Develop transportation strategies for timely product delivery while minimizing costs.
* Assess make-or-buy strategies and recommend production solutions that meet quality standards.
* Collaborate with demand and supply planning teams to ensure customer service and risk management.
* Define import/export processes for cost-effective and timely product supply.
* Work with quality and plant managers to minimize waste and obsolescence.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree; MBA or International Commerce background is advantageous.
Minimum 15 years in logistics with 10 years in similar roles.
Experience in logistics consulting.
Proficiency in English and French, Spanish is a plus.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven track record in logistics, transportation, and inventory management.
Proficient in Office, ERP, MRP, and APS systems.
