Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, we are looking for a Data Scientist Background: Roche is seeking a skilled and proactive Temporary R\\&D Data Scientist to join the innovative team and provide crucial support during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and leveraging the unique data integration platform, supporting ongoing AI model development, and ensuring the seamless continuation of our R\\&D data workflows. This is a hands-on role for a data scientist who can quickly get up to speed on complex projects and contribute to the team's success from day one. Tasks \\& Responsibilities: * Maintain Data Integration Tools: Manage and troubleshoot our existing data integration pipelines that feed our AI models, ensuring data quality and availability * Support AI Development: Collaborate with the R\\&D team to support the ongoing training, validation, and optimization of machine learning and AI models * Data Analysis \\& Reporting: Perform data analysis to extract insights, support research questions, and provide clear reports to the team * Troubleshoot \\& Problem-Solve: Address technical challenges related to data access, software limitations, and model performance * Ensure Project Continuity: Work closely with the existing team to ensure all project timelines and deliverables are met during the contract period * Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of processes and any modifications made to existing systems Must Haves: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.\\*\\*\\*\\*\\* * 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a data science or data analytics role.\\*\\*\\*\\*\\* * Strong proficiency in Python and its scientific computing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).\\*\\*\\*\\*\\* * Experience with SQL and working with relational databases.\\*\\*\\*\\*\\* * Familiarity with the principles of ETL and experience with data pipeline management. * A foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and models. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a technical team. * Familiarity with FAIR data principles. * Experience with Image analysis techniques.
