Head of Road and Community Buildings Service in DullyAbout this offerIn anticipation of the retirement of the current incumbent after 37 years of dedicated service, the Municipality of Dully is offering the position of Head of the Road and Community Buildings Service.To preserve and maintain the community infrastructure of Dully, the manager will be responsible for existing infrastructures as well as new projects that will emerge. They will carry out the tasks assigned to them with a team composed of a community road employee and two building custodians, along with an apprentice. They will also ensure effective collaboration with employees from the commune of Bursinel in the sharing of vehicles and tools. In this harmonious and constantly evolving context, the commune is seeking a Head of Roads and Buildings to ensure maintenance, safety, and the quality of public infrastructures, thereby contributing to the daily well-being of its residents and the preservation of an exceptional environment.General description of the role- Organize and lead the work of the Road Service and its personnel in maintaining the cleanliness of streets and paths, public places, and the surroundings of community buildings that must be regularly swept.- Plan, supervise, and organize the cleaning and maintenance of community buildings (school, PC shelters, CCD: Communal Center of Dully, etc.).- Plan, supervise, and organize outdoor arrangements, cleaning, and maintenance of community buildings (school, PC shelters, CCD, etc.).- Manage roads and sidewalks during winter periods.- Conduct maintenance work on the beach.- Organize and direct the maintenance of community buildings and outdoor arrangements: monitoring, maintenance, and management techniques of community buildings (heating, lighting, security, maintaining an updated list of companies collaborating with the municipality).- Mow grass around community buildings, prune trees, maintain sports fields, and manage watering and maintenance of various floral arrangements in the commune.- Oversee activities related to events and assist various subordinates (custodians and apprentices).- Represent the municipality in discussions with external bodies and the municipal government.- Draft an annual activity report and prepare budget proposals with the municipal management, and monitor expenses according to the established budget.- Be a reference for the support of an apprentice agent or landscaper.- Handle waste disposal requests and visits to the waste drop-off site once a week in coordination with the commune of Bursinel.- Conduct regular visits for potential emergencies and direct engagements with the municipality's property management on different projects in execution and with the companies during meetings, and relay information to the Municipality for the communal council, which is the only body authorized to make decisions (costly works, issues, emergencies, etc.).- Control and manage invoices related to the department.- Flexibility is required for events or emergencies (weather, urgencies, special sessions, funerals, lighting public spaces in conjunction with Romande Energie).Profile sought:- Diploma: Diploma of agent foreman, team leader, or equivalent.- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Switzerland in a similar position in maintenance and management of work.- Skills: Excellent knowledge in road works maintenance and building techniques. Proven ability in budget management and monitoring, as well as meeting deadlines. Ensuring the safety of operators and maintaining a trusted management approach.- Personal qualities: Trustworthy person and contact person for the municipality, good integrity and loyalty, ability to communicate clearly and precisely, solution-oriented, dynamic, and rigorous.- Proficiency in the French language (spoken and written); other languages are an asset.
