Senior Project Manager - Laser TechnologyYou will lead cutting-edge product development projects within our Engineering / R&D organization, focusing on advanced laser-based systems. Working closely with a highly skilled, interdisciplinary team, you will drive projects from concept through development to product realization. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical depth with project leadership, shaping innovative solutions in a dynamic and international environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver complex product development projects and project portfolios within Engineering / R&DTake full ownership of project execution, including scope, schedule (WBS), resources, budget, and risk managementEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetDrive cross-functional alignment and decision-making across Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholdersPlan and facilitate project reviews, workshops, and key decision forumsSupport customer interaction by providing regular project status updates, ensuring transparency on progress and timelines, and understanding customer perspectivesManage project governance, including planning, reporting, change control, and lessons learnedEnsure consistent application of project management processes, tools, and standardsContribute to continuous improvement of project execution and organisational processesLeadership ExpectationsAct as a role model for project management excellence, setting high standards for structure, clarity, and delivery disciplineLead through influence and collaboration in a matrix organisationDrive accountability and ownership within project teamsCommunicate with clarity and transparency to enable fast and well-informed decisionsProactively identify and address risks, conflicts, and organisational barriersFoster a solution-oriented and results-driven cultureBuild trust and strong relationships across functions and with stakeholdersCoach and support team members to strengthen project delivery capabilitiesYour Profile / QualificationsDegree in Engineering or a related technical fieldStrong technical background, ideally in laser technology, photonics, or complex optical instrumentsSolid understanding of product development processes in high-tech environmentsExperience with ISO 13485 / medical device development environments is an advantageProven track record delivering complex technical product development projectsExperience managing large projects or project portfoliosProject Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or similar) is an advantageProfessional SkillsStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skillsExcellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to manage complexity and drive structured executionLanguage SkillsEnglish: business fluency (written and spoken)German: a plusTravel ExpectationsWillingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel.
