Electrical Engineer (PCB, Electronics)
Anavia AG specializes in the design, development & manufacturing of vertical takeoff & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry leading unmanned helicopter systems for various mission profiles, such as Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection or Mapping & Cargo.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
3–5 years proven experience in PCB design and electronics development.
Experience with aerospace, defense, or UAV/UAS electronics systems preferred; hands‑on experience with PCB design tools and electronics laboratory equipment.
Proficiency with PCB design software (Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle, or KiCAD).
Experience with simulation tools (PSpice, or equivalent) and strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design principles.
Knowledge of power electronics including switching regulators, DC‑DC converters, battery management systems; familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems hardware.
Understanding of EMC/EMI design principles and mitigation techniques.
Experience with electronics testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment.
Hands‑on problem‑solving skills and ability to support both design and production activities; willingness to work in office and production floor environments.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and certification standards (FAA AC 21‑99(0), SAE AS50881, IPC‑2221), communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet), and DO‑254 certification process.
Knowledge of automotive or aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and independently manage multiple projects.
Good English language skills (oral and written); German desirable.
Key Tasks
PCB Design & Development
Design and develop printed circuit boards for avionics, power distribution, sensor interfaces, and control systems.
Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCAD.
Perform component selection, bill of materials generation.
Ensure designs meet aerospace environmental requirements including temperature, vibration, shock, and moisture specifications.
Develop multilayer PCB designs with controlled impedance, high‑speed signal routing, and power integrity considerations.
Electronics System Design
Design analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, sensor interfaces, and communication circuits.
Develop power management systems, voltage regulation, and power distribution networks.
Implement EMI/EMC mitigation techniques in circuit and PCB design.
Testing & Validation
Develop test plans and procedures for PCB and electronics validation.
Conduct bring‑up, debugging, and characterisation of new PCB designs.
Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers.
Support environmental testing (temperature cycling, vibration, humidity, altitude).
Support flight test activities and analyse in‑flight performance data.
Documentation & Compliance
Create detailed technical documentation including design specifications, test reports, assembly drawings.
Maintain configuration management and version control of designs.
Support certification activities and compliance with aerospace standards (DO‑160, MIL‑STD‑810, IEC 60068).
Develop manufacturing documentation including assembly instructions, test procedures, quality inspection criteria.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for component procurement and PCB fabrication.
Competencies & Duties
Work independently and responsibly, performing tasks as described above.
Comply with ANAVIA employment contract, company safety instructions, quality manual, and process specifications.
International travel up to 25% of working hours.
