Our client is a top-tier family office managing complex cross-border investments. Reporting directly to the COO and CFO, you will have the opportunity to establish the accounting functions for the group, harmonize processes, and lead change initiatives, with the potential for senior management responsibilities in the future.
The ideal candidate should have a recognized accounting qualification and 2-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within financial services.
Responsibilities:
1. Create an internal accounting function from scratch, moving away from external service providers, covering activities for two entities in Geneva and abroad, including:
2. Selection and implementation of an accounting system
3. Designing workflows to manage the expense lifecycle, including invoice receipt, expense approval (subject to rules and limits), payment generation, payment approval and release, bank reconciliation, and integration of accounting data into software and portfolio management systems
4. Building internal reporting systems for detailed management insights
5. Involvement in other finance-related areas, including transfer pricing
Required Skills and Knowledge:
* Understanding of accounting principles: double entry, accruals, prepayments, journals, general ledger design, and group consolidation
* Knowledge of Swiss tax/VAT; international tax knowledge is a plus
* Familiarity with Swiss stamp duty and regulatory requirements
* Numerate with strong analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
* Proficient in data analysis and Excel
