As a Project Engineer for the High-Luminosity LHC, you will join the Project Office (DO) within the Accelerators and Technology (ATS) Sector. Your work will focus on the integration and the preparation for the eventual de-installations for Work Package 15 for the HL-LHC installations during Long Shutdown 3 (scheduled to begin July 2026).
Responsibilities
* Following up with the integration modifications required for new underground caverns and LHC alcoves, validating the equipment integration to be used and producing the required documentation.
* Producing and updating 3D models using CATIA V5.
* Preparing and uploading the data derived from the integration to the HL-LHC lay-out database.
* Taking part in the installation schedule preparation, and the analysing the impact of ECR on the baseline schedule and budget.
* Following up on new small and medium projects that the HL-WP15 will take over to guarantee the smooth preparation of the de-installation and installation.
* Supporting the WPs for the de-installation and installation procedure preparation and contributing to the Installation Readiness Reviews required for starting major installation phases.
* Taking part in WP15 team activities for organising meetings, reporting, updating SharePoint pages, etc.
Requirements:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
* You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
* Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
