Overall objective Carry out calorimetry measurements and evaluate the data collected from a variety of techniques (e.g. Atlas, RC, DSC and C80) allowing correct risk assessments to be made.
Evaluate and interpret the data collected from these tests.
Analyze existing and newly measured data and compile them on Sphera software.
Establish a list of possible deviations of studied processes and assess the cause and consequences of hazard.
Main Responsibilities Global Safety Lab Intern — Support the Global Safety Laboratory Manager for ensuring top class methodologies and techniques to evaluate chemical hazards of submitted cases.
Plan and carry out reaction calorimetry measurements to determine thermal safety data for Givaudan’s chemical reactions.
Evaluate and interpret the data collected from these tests, allowing correct risk assessments to be made.
Write the scientific reports related to these measurements including criticality class of the reaction systems and recommendations for safer process.
Follow any procedures or quality instructions relevant to the role.
Each staff member of Givaudan works according to company rules, in terms of hygiene, safety and environmental protection.
Decision-making authority Determine the request tests according to internal policies (standard, guidelines)
Provide expertise and recommendations for safer processes
Required Competencies (Technical And Functional) Technical background in the area of Chemical Process Safety, Chemical Engineering and organic chemistry.
Experience in carrying out organic syntheses on a laboratory scale.
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Good knowledge of common IT office tools, including database management
Primary Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
Fluent in English and French.
