Job Description
This role combines exposure to commodity markets, statistical learning, and rule-based trading strategies, while also contributing to thematic and structural trade ideas. Key responsibilities include:
* Building, enhancing, and maintaining Python-based analytical tools and dashboards that generate trading features and signals.
* Integrating market data from both the financial markets (e.g., futures, options, spreads, volatility surfaces) and the physical oil value chain (e.g., flows, freight, arbitrage, refining margins).
* Conducting research on macroeconomic, geopolitical, and industry-specific developments to assess their implications for crude oil and refined products.
* Collaborating with traders and senior analysts to identify and evaluate thematic and structural trading opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, or Economics), with a working understanding of Python and its uses in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and signal generation. Exposure to the crude oil and/or products markets is also essential.
