Category Development Lead
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled Category Development Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing global category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders and in alignment with global and local sourcing requirements. You will work closely with business unit leaders to understand implementation challenges and to develop solutions to increase compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Defining strategy for Maintenance, Repair and Operating Supplies (MRO);
2. Maintaining effective relationships with key suppliers;
3. Negotiating category's procurement activities, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract management;
4. Providing leadership and support during sourcing initiatives;
5. Streamlining P2P Process by ensuring consistency and best practices sharing across Businesses;
6. Implementing necessary tools and reports to manage categories and supply base;
7. Driving efforts to understand internal customer needs and summarize business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts;
8. Establishing and evaluating performance metrics for category and own cost-saving results.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
1. Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Management, Operations, Business or Engineering; A Master's Degree in related field is preferred;
2. Minimum 10 years' business experience, preferably 6 years in procurement or supply chain;
3. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage, communicate and influence mid to senior level stakeholders;
4. Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial analysis;
5. Experience in negotiation of complex agreements;
6. Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written; Familiarity with multiple source-to-pay systems and ERP software is an advantage;
7. Familiarity with E-sourcing tools;
8. Global awareness;
9. Professional Purchasing Certification;
10. Experience in Food / Agribusiness industry;
11. Experience in LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and / or project management.
