Responsibilities
Patent Advisory and Innovation Mining: Advise on patenting and related matters, fostering sustainable innovation mining across the organization.
IP and Inventor Enablement: Guide inventors and ensure readiness for future projects.
Technology and Product Landscape Monitoring: Continuously monitor company product innovations and the evolving technology landscape.
Inventor and Expert Interface: Serve as the bridge between inventors and innovation protection experts, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
Patent Portfolio and Scientific Analysis: Dive deep into the patent portfolio and relevant scientific literature to provide strong technical insights.
Core Technology Ownership: Own core technology domains with a focus on patent filing and ongoing maintenance.
Continuous Improvement: Refine and streamline innovation mining and protection approaches to maintain industry leadership.
Qualifications
Scientific or engineering background with a broad, practical understanding of diverse technical topics.
Qualified patent attorney (CH, EU, and/or US) with solid knowledge of EU and US patent laws.
5+ years of experience in patent prosecution and the active management of patent portfolios.
Trustworthy, reliable, and able to drive projects to completion independently with a strategic mindset.
Adaptable and agile, able to shift focus as priorities evolve in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
Nice to have
Patent litigation experience.
In-house experience in multinational companies.
Robust expertise in engineering, chemistry, or both.
Experience driving cross‑functional projects to successful conclusion.
Ability to converse in German.

Salary
Salary ranges are assigned to a job based on the level of seniority and the location‑specific market median of similar jobs according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.
Formalities
This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, and we ask that you work onsite at least three days per week.
The percentage in the job title means flexibility – choose full‑time or part‑time based on what works for you.
