Designing the best network and schedule, finding the right ticket price for the right customer at the right time. Those are our challenges. In this key role, you will conceptualize, design and implement data-driven innovations to maximize Lufthansa Group profitability. Specifically, we ask you to:
Define, solve, improve mathematical optimization models and tools for different problems (e.g. demand forecasting, price optimization, optimal network and scheduling, competitor intelligence, etc.)
Use advanced data analytics, statistics and simulations to develop practical solutions to business problems and identify revenue opportunities
Develop and integrate AI and Automation solutions to transform and innovate our tools
Prepare and hold persuasive presentations of complex information in front of peers, interfaces and management
Manage numerous stakeholders with a clear focus on collaboration, empathy and reaching the collective optimum
Progressively become a center of expertise who can lead complex projects in the field of airline Revenue Management and Network Planning
Requirements
University master’s degree in a quantitative field
Proven research or work experience in using advanced machine learning algorithms, statistics and OR
Hands‑on experience with AI and Automation emerging technologies, with a focus on agentic AI solutions and protocols
Advanced skills in programming (e.g. Python, R)
Literacy in modern IT tools (cloud computing platforms, workflow automation, big data, etc.)
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Strong business acumen; experience or interest in Revenue Management and/or Network Planning is an asset
High level of conceptual capabilities and ability to turn analytical findings into business opportunities
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Highly motivated team player
Fluency in English
