Solution Architect/Systems Engineer Electronics – 100% (m/f/d) at Thales Alenia Space, Zürich. The role focuses on the development, operation and deployment of satellite‑based systems, including optical and quantum‑based communications and opto‑electronic observation systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Document system configuration and manage support action items.
* Design, stabilise and maintain solution architecture for bids and projects throughout lifecycle, including PCB design.
* Lead architecture and requirements definition across project life cycle within agreed programme boundaries, covering cost, schedule and risk.
* Analyse customer and stakeholder requirements and develop system concepts in multidisciplinary teams.
* Define interfaces, power conversion, control and data architecture.
* Prepare key project documentation (development plans, design descriptions, interface control documents) and oversee verification control.
* Participate in preparation of offers for new projects.
* Presented technical reviews internally and externally and served as technical contact with internal and external agencies and customers.
* Design printed circuit boards, develop schematics, layout and verify concepts for space applications and electrical ground support equipment.
Qualifications
* Degree in Space, Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
* 7+ years of experience in electrical product development.
* Minimum 5 years of industry experience in electronics hardware design.
* Experience with PCB/CCA design (schematics and layout) for control and power boards.
* Proficiency with eCAD tools such as Siemens EDA Xpedition.
* Knowledge of circuit simulation tools (OrCAD PSpice, LTSpice, Matlab/Simulink, Modelica).
* Experience in Model‑Based Systems Engineering and requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS).
* Fluency in English; German is an advantage.
* Strong self‑motivation, responsibility and reliability.
* Experience in systems engineering, architecture, and product life‑cycle development.
Preferred Extras (Strong Plus)
* RF design experience.
* Experience in the space or aerospace industry.
* Embedded software/VHDL skills.
* Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) experience.
