swissQuant is looking for a skilled and dedicated Finance Controller to join the finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and reporting processes across swissQuant.
As a co-lead in the Finance department, you will collaborate cross-departmentally with teams such as Sales, HR, Engineering, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
1. Accounting
2. Responsible for recording and reviewing general ledger journal entries for complex areas, including foreign exchange and internal-use software and website development costs.
3. Responsible for revenue reconciliation, including revenue entry and cost of goods sold entries.
4. Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations for key and complex accounts.
5. Review of general ledger account reconciliations performed by staff accountants or external functions.
6. Supervision of staff accountants and other accounting staff, including external functions.
7. Cash management in conjunction with CFO.
8. Lead external financial audits.
9. Manage global tax reporting and administration.
10. Coordinate with staff accountants on supplier payments management.
11. Review accounts payable, including invoice voucher postings and payment postings to the general ledger.
12. Back up for AP payments review and approval, including electronic payments and global wires.
13. Assist with financial reviews and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Finance
1. Co-lead reporting, planning, and annual budget preparation with CFO.
2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and YTD financial statements.
3. Collaborate with other departments for quarterly and annual forecasts.
4. Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, conduct audits to ensure data integrity, and communicate findings.
Administration and Legal & Business Affairs
1. Co-lead HR-related accounting, payroll, and benefits processes.
2. Act as liaison between departments and Legal & Business Affairs to manage contracts and legal documents.
3. Coordinate with external legal and business partners to ensure seamless legal and contractual workflows.
Requirements
* Graduate degree in Accounting.
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
* Excellent technical accounting, finance, reporting, and analytical skills.
* Fluent in English and German.
* Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in internationally operating SaaS businesses.
* Strong communication and presentation skills for interacting with senior management.
* Proactive, entrepreneurial, and self-starting attitude.
* Eligible to work and reside in Switzerland, with flexibility to travel to Zurich.
Strongly Desired
* Eidg. dipl. Experte in Rechnungslegung or equivalent, with public accounting and international standards experience.
* Experience in technology or software sectors.
* Tax expertise, including international considerations.
* Experience with fundraising and international investors.
