We are looking for a motivated Senior Trader for our subsidiary Minka SCS AG (Minka), based in Winterthur, Switzerland. Minka specializes in the sustainable sourcing and supply of cocoa beans from various countries of origin and continents and counts the vast majority of the cocoa-processing industry and chocolatiers among its customers.
* Independent execution of trading activities for defined sourcing regions and key accounts in the chocolate and cocoa processing industry. Development and implementation of trading strategies to optimize margins and risk management
* Analysis of market trends, price developments, and global supply chains
* Building and maintaining relationships with producers, suppliers, and customers
* Close collaboration with internal teams (logistics, finance)
* Regular travel to countries of origin
These are the competencies we are looking for
* Several years (minimum 7 years) of professional experience in commodity trading, particularly in cocoa and/or coffee
* Several years of experience managing a commodity trading position with full P&L responsibility and a proven track record of success
* Experience conducting business activities on the African and/or South American continent. Knowledge and experience in upcountry origin sourcing.
* In-depth understanding of global markets, price formation, and hedging instruments
* Strong analytical skills and negotiation abilities
* High resilience, decisiveness, and an entrepreneurial mindset
* Bachelor's degree in business/finance, agricultural sciences, engineering, or a related field
* Fluent in English (spoken and written) is mandatory. Fluency in French or Spanish is also required. German is a big plus.
* Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly
* Swiss working permit (incl EU citizens)
