Service Sales Engineer – Transformer Service (Traction/Rail) 80 - 100% (f/m/d)
We are looking for a Service Sales Engineer for our Traction Transformers Service Business Unit in Geneva, Switzerland. Reporting to the Traction Service Sales and Marketing Manager, you will support the sales organization and customers throughout the sales process in the assigned area. You will be part of the sales team that focuses on traction transformer service in Europe. As a Service Sales Engineer, your exciting task is to facilitate the sustainable mobility transition by a cutting‑edge rail product and rail service portfolio for rolling‑stock equipment. Based in Geneva, the role will assume responsibility for the rail customers in Europe (OEM train manufacturers, rail operators, leasing companies). Responsibilities
Support the sales team and customers throughout the sales process, while developing new and existing business by increasing internal and external knowledge of products and market.
Prepare technical offers in accordance with the unit portfolio and customer needs.
Clarify technical and commercial aspects of the offer.
Participate in sales strategy discussions, assign short‑ and long‑term goals, and negotiate the various product group sales budgets and marketing plans.
Identify customer needs and competitor offers through market analysis, ensuring efficient marketing actions and communications that demonstrate the value proposition of the products, systems, services and packages.
Support the area sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost‑effective solutions, and provide technical support, product presentations and product/solution/service‑related training.
Take ownership of specific customer cases to ensure efficient issue resolution and analyze the root cause of any lost proposals to increase future competitiveness.
Perform sales performance reviews, propose recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls, and provide regular sales‑activity reports to assist in production planning.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and more than 2 years of experience in direct sales and sales management.
Knowledge of the rail rolling‑stock market and rail customers (OEM train manufacturers, rail operators, leasing companies) is an advantage.
Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
Experience in business development, account management and cross‑selling across systems, solutions, products and service categories.
Understanding of offer preparation, contract negotiation, risk management and commercial and legal terms.
Travel primarily within the European Union if needed.
Frequent interaction with rail customers and the HITACHI Energy European Front‑End‑Sales Team is expected.
