The Business Development Manager is responsible for designing and executing strategies to acquire new clients, optimizing the lead intake process, and enhancing the client onboarding experience. This role involves overseeing and mentoring the Intake Specialist to ensure effective lead follow-up and coordination with marketing and operations teams to achieve growth objectives.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Pipeline Management:
* Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with the firm's objectives to meet monthly and quarterly client acquisition goals.
* Manage the client intake pipeline by monitoring lead conversion rates and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Analyze lead sources, recommend adjustments, and optimize the intake and conversion processes.
* Collaborate with marketing teams on targeted campaigns and lead generation initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development:
* Supervise and mentor the Intake Specialist, ensuring consistent and high-quality communication with prospective clients.
* Conduct regular team meetings to review sales targets, lead management, and intake goals.
* Provide training and development opportunities for the Intake Specialist to enhance performance and client interaction skills.
* Set performance goals, conduct periodic evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
Client Relationship Management:
* Oversee the client intake experience to ensure a seamless transition from initial lead contact to consultation.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve client engagement, satisfaction, and conversion rates.
* Monitor client satisfaction metrics and incorporate feedback to continually enhance client onboarding experiences.
Sales Metrics and Reporting:
* Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including conversion rates, lead response times, and consultation attendance.
* Generate weekly and monthly sales reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to Operations leadership.
* Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Lawmatics, Clio) to ensure accurate data tracking and to inform strategic decisions.
Process Improvement and Compliance:
* Regularly review and refine intake and business development processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
* Identify bottlenecks in intake procedures and implement solutions to enhance speed and effectiveness.
* Ensure all sales and client intake activities comply with ABA guidelines and applicable state regulations.
* Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to align business development efforts with overall firm objectives.
Qualifications
* Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree or sales certifications a plus.
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, with at least 1-2 years in a management role; experience in a legal or professional services firm preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Lawmatics, Clio), Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
* Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
* Analytical Skills: Experience in data analysis and the ability to draw actionable insights from sales metrics.
