MISSION
As a Project Purchaser, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities related to new product development and product improvement projects.
Acting as a key interface between R&D, Industrialization, Supply Chain, and suppliers, you will ensure the availability of goods and services under the best conditions in terms of cost, quality, and lead time.
You will contribute directly to project profitability, supplier performance, and Supply Chain reliability while supporting EMS’s purchasing strategy and long-term supplier partnerships.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Purchasing & Product Development
* Participate in product development, industrialization, and product improvement projects from early stages
* Analyze technical and functional requirements and define appropriate purchasing strategies
* Assess purchasing impacts related to new products, including costs, supplier capabilities, risks, and lead times
* Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers in collaboration with Commodity Buyers and internal stakeholders
Sourcing & Supplier Negotiation
* Manage supplier consultations, RFQs, and negotiations at an international level
* Negotiate commercial, contractual, and logistical conditions in line with project objectives
* Support the implementation of supplier and logistics agreements
* Ensure competitiveness and proper application of negotiated conditions and pricing
Supplier & Supply Chain Management
* Contribute to the rationalization and development of the supplier panel
* Build and maintain long‑term supplier relationships
* Assess and anticipate Supply Chain risks (capacity, dependency, quality, geopolitical risks, lead times, etc.)
* Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate closely with R&D, Industrialization, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams
* Ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders throughout project phases
* Contribute to the optimization of purchasing and Supply Chain processes and tools
* Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvements
PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in project purchasing, strategic sourcing, or Supply Chain within an industrial environment
* Experience in an international and technical environment is a strong advantage
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Good understanding of Supply Chain and industrial processes
* Ability to analyze technical requirements and manage complex projects
* Strong analytical, organizational, and decision‑making skills
* Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
* Fluent in French and English; any additional language is a plus
