This 18‑24 month program will be focused on tackling specific Use Cases within Biomedical Research across our labs in Basel, Switzerland with the goal of having the individual promoted to a higher level at the end of the program. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign, develop, and evaluate novel deep neural network architectures to solve the scientific problem at hand. /li liCommunicate and present results to both deep technical experts, as well as non-technical subject matter experts. /li liHelp deploy and drive engagement and adoption throughout the broader scientific and data science communities in BR. /li liDrive AI initiatives by working effectively with cross‑functional teams, including RD, IT, and business units. /li /ul h3Essential Requirements /h3 ul liMaster or PhD degree in Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics. /li liExperience executing and delivering AI driven projects. /li liExcellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders. /li liProficiency with algorithm development, deep neural network creation and evaluation, model deployment and evangelism. /li liIdentify problems where to apply AI solutions. /li liData stewardship: ability to work with big and complex datasets, assemble, and prepare data for AI use. /li liDeep Neural Networks: expertise in architecting and delivering deep models from end to end. /li liCollaboration: eagerness to work with people from a variety of backgrounds – from technical to scientific to executive management. /li liCommunication: willingness to learn how to tailor communications and presentation to the audience involved. /li /ul h3Why Novartis /h3 pHelping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
