Job Description
At SMG Automotive, we are on a mission to simplify people’s lives. As our engineering organization grows, we’re expanding our Engineering Enablement team - the group that powers how Frontend is built across the company. You’ll join a small, impactful team that stewards all things Frontend, enabling six stream value teams shaping the experience for our users.
We work with a modern web stack (Next.js/React) and cross-platform mobile technologies, lean on best practices, and thrive on fast build-measure-learn cycles. This is your chance to have a big impact, influence engineering culture, and help us push the boundaries of what’s possible in Frontend development.
What you will be doing
2. Partner with engineering leads to prioritize and execute the most impactful opportunities across our Frontend codebases
3. Elevate our platform every day by driving healthy, scalable, and maintainable solutions
4. Move fluidly between supporting teams in reaching their goals, keeping technical debt under control, and driving hands-on improvements in our codebase
5. Align patterns and practices across multiple applications and teams, raising consistency and quality company-wide
6. Bring a sharp eye to code reviews, offering feedback that grows both the codebase and the people around you
7. Champion quality by applying and evolving industry best practices in everything we ship
8. Influence how we work by introducing ideas, tools, and approaches that make our codebase and processes stronger
Qualifications
What we are looking for
9. Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, evolving in-house products with a long-term vision
10. Vast experience in building and scaling complex React applications
11. Strong fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript with React and Next.js, with a keen eye for clean, maintainable code
12. Confidence in testing strategies and frameworks to ensure robust, high-quality Frontend code
13. Hands-on experience with continuous integration, monitoring, and modern DevOps practices
14. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to work effectively across teams
15. A self-starter mindset: organized, accountable, and proactive in spotting and solving challenges
16. Familiarity with AWS, serverless architectures, and identity/authentication solutions like Auth0
