Development Engineer - Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems We are seeking a skilled Development Engineer to define and develop global design guidelines for exhaust aftertreatment subsystems, including metal components, catalytic converters, particulate filters, process equipment, and control algorithms.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and defining design guidelines for subsystems.
Defining technical requirements for new functions and systems.
Providing technical support and advice in development projects to internal departments such as quality, sales, project management, and service.
Planning, executing, and documenting emission measurement campaigns at customer sites for system validation.
Developing innovative measurement and control strategies.
Supervising students during internships and thesis projects.
Presenting new developments at international conferences and in academic journals.
Your profile:
Degree in mechanical, process, electrical engineering, or similar.
Several years of experience as a development engineer, preferably in exhaust gas aftertreatment.
Knowledge in fluid dynamics, process technology, fault analysis, and test planning.
Experience with exhaust gas aftertreatment systems.
Ability to handle complex interdisciplinary issues confidently.
Fluent in English; German knowledge is a plus.
Structured, methodical, and precise work approach.
Strong customer focus, teamwork, and target orientation.
Assertiveness and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel internationally (~15%).
Additional skills (preferred):
Experience with GT-SUITE for modeling, simulation, and analysis of exhaust systems.
Knowledge of CFD analysis using STAR-CCM+ for flow structure optimization and model calibration.
