Senior Accountant (m/f/d) – 12 month fixed term – Küsnacht, Switzerland
Novelis is a global leader in innovative aluminum products and services, committed to sustainability and responsible recycling. The role is located at the European Regional Headquarters in Küsnacht, Switzerland.
Responsibilities
Coordinate month‑end close and consolidation activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and high‑quality US GAAP financial reporting across a portfolio of 12 reporting entities.
Act as the European subject‑matter expert for OneStream, enabling robust consolidation, account reconciliation, and system enhancements including automation initiatives.
Provide advanced technical accounting expertise, including contract assessments, application of complex accounting guidance, and embedded derivative evaluations.
Review Novelis AG’s financial statements (US GAAP & Swiss GAAP), including SOX and policy compliance.
Manage quarterly reviews and year‑end audits with external auditors, delivering high quality submissions and driving timely resolution of issues.
Act as Controller for Novelis AG (European HQ), directing cost analysis, financial planning, and forecasting to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
Propose process improvements and automate existing processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; advanced professional qualifications are an asset.
Extensive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within shared service or outsourced delivery environments.
Proficiency in SAP ERP, OneStream, and MS Office.
Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and Swiss GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS is advantageous.
Fluency in English (verbal and written); knowledge of German is a plus.
Strong communication skills to engage at all levels of the organization.
