We are currently looking for an Associate Research Manager to lead our Resilience, Early Recovery and Durable Solutions work in Syria.
Department: IMPACT Syria mission
Position: Associate Research Manager
Contract duration: 12 months
Starting Date: November 1st, 2025
Location: Damascus, Syria
Country profile: After more than a decade of conflict, Syria remains a protracted crisis marked by volatility and overlapping shocks. As of September 2025, conditions in the country continue to be shaped by ongoing tensions and conflict in several areas, market fluctuations, deepening socioeconomic deterioration, and recurrent drought. While a fragile stabilisation in parts of the country has led to return movements, escalations elsewhere have triggered new displacement, leaving humanitarian and recovery needs in flux. Evidence-based planning and programming remains paramount to ensure that humanitarian efforts and recovery responses adequately meet the needs of the most vulnerable people and are tailored to diverse community realities. REACH has been conducting assessments on the humanitarian situation in Syria since 2013 and has grown into a key information management actor in the response.

Confidentiality: The Associate Research Manager will maintain the strictest confidentiality on all data collected and related processes. They will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of any information and data belonging to IMPACT and its partners or collected during their assignment with IMPACT.
