As Head of Risk Monitoring & Reporting, you will oversee credit and market risk assessment and monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to manage and mitigate risks effectively.
Key responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Governance
o Ensure compliance with FINMA regulations concerning credit and market risks, including capital adequacy requirements.
o Align risk policies with regulatory standards.
2. Risk assessment
o Perform risk assessments integrating geopolitical, market, and operational risks.
o Deliver regular reports to senior management and the board on risk exposures, compliance gaps, and capital adequacy metrics, highlighting early warning signals.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Partner with Trading, ALM, Treasury, and Finance departments to calibrate risk appetite and optimize risk-weighted assets.
4. Strategic Leadership
o Design risk mitigation strategies balancing profitability with sustainability, especially in volatile markets.
o Oversee remediation plans for non-compliance or control weaknesses identified during audits or reviews.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 10 years in risk management within the banking sector.
* Strong knowledge of Swiss banking regulations and risk management practices (Basel III, FINMA frameworks).
* Deep understanding of financial instruments (derivatives, bonds, equities, structured products).
* Awareness of market dynamics and macroeconomic influences.
* Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to challenge and enhance risk management frameworks.
* Effective communicator of complex risk concepts to stakeholders and regulators.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills, with leadership ability.
