Job Description
As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. You will contribute to system design, programming, testing, and troubleshooting, while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements. These roles will focus on large-scale projects including tech transfers, control system upgrades, and process improvements. One position emphasizes DeltaV expertise, while the other emphasizes MES PharmaSuite expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, review, and update automation-related specifications
* Perform off-line and on-line coding, testing, and peer reviews
* Design, develop, and execute Automation Change Records (ACRs), Quality Change Records, and commissioning test documentation
* Serve as the automation lead for unit operations, supporting change implementation and issue resolution on large/complex projects
* Assess proposed changes and evaluate discrepancies during manufacturing operations
* Troubleshoot process, equipment, and automation system malfunctions or failures
* Contribute to site automation policies, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Implement innovative automation approaches to enhance quality and efficiency
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in either:
* MES PharmaSuite (Position 2)
* Proven experience in pharmaceutical or biotech automation engineering within a cGMP environment
* Expertise in automation change control, qualification, and commissioning processes
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex manufacturing systems
* Structured, solution-oriented mindset with strong teamwork and communication abilities
* English fluency required (business level); German is a plus
* On-site presence required (no remote work)
