We are looking for our location in Grüningen a Quality Control Team Leader.
This role will manage a small team. Responsibility for performance reviews and training development of the team would rest with the next level Manager.
1. The enforcement of safe systems of work and holding those below them in the management structure accountable for their health and safety performance.
2. The provision of safe equipment, safe working environment and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
3. Ensure that employees in your department are adequately informed, instructed, trained and supervised to safely carry out work for which they are engaged.
4. Ensure a safe working environment, striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, through the delivery of key enabling activities (. Near Misses, Safety Observations, timely completion of actions). Ensure that safety and environmental incidents are fully investigated and the appropriate countermeasures established.
5. Responsibilities may include developing operational procedures, responding to customer, operational, and technical questions, and reviewing and approving results and adjustments.
6. Supporting the Quality Manager with investigations of customer complaints.
7. Supervises the daily operations of quality control lab - operations and responds to highly technical questions and concerns, such as formula adjustments, quality problems, compliance with standards, use and care of equipment, and related operations.
8. May develop operating policies and procedures to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective lab environment; adjusts and modifies operations are appropriate.
9. Coordinates effective relationships and operations with other departments, such as production, technical groups, and other parties through meetings, reports, and communications.
10. Reviews and updates new formulas based on operational and customer problems and suggestions, and works with appropriate personnel to approve and implement changes.
11. Reviews test results, documentation, and other daily, weekly or monthly information prepared by the team or plant to ensure compliance with company operating policies and procedures.
12. Day to day problems are resolved.
13. May be involved in the recruitment of team members for the QC Lab.
14. Operating standards must be monitored and any necessary changes initiated.
15. The Team Leader should bring critical issues to the Quality Manager’s attention and assist in providing solutions to those issues.
16. Also, responsible for escalating and resolving issues quickly and efficiently in the absence of the Quality Manager.
17. Team members are actively involved in communication and the development and introduction of improvement initiatives.
18. FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
19. Three years of QC experience
20. Educated to Secondary or High School standard, passing the appropriate exams
21. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is preferred but may be substituted for experience.

36. Applying intermediate quality control principles and practices;
