Overview
Join the SOPHiA GENETICS Finance Team as a Senior Director, Financial Controller. You will lead the accounting function in a multinational, publicly listed organization and work across Switzerland and Boston, contributing to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide. The role offers a hybrid work schedule (2 days per week home working) with offices in Rolle, CH or Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
* Report to the EVP, CFO and lead the accounting function to ensure accurate, timely financial close in IFRS and local GAAP.
* Maintain strong technical accounting expertise; primary contact for auditors; ensure audit readiness and SOX control compliance.
* Drive continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance and efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical accounting, FP&A) to support financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost accounting.
* Build and maintain relationships across international locations, supporting the International finance teams in Switzerland, France, and the United States to align on financial operations.
Qualifications
* 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, with preference for candidates who transitioned to industry roles, ideally as a controller.
* Proven expertise in IFRS; knowledge of CH and US GAAP is highly desirable.
* Experience in an international, publicly listed organization; multi-entity finance and accounting operations; experience in multinational environments across regions and cross-location relationships.
* Demonstrated leadership to manage international accounting teams and oversee the full accounting scope; experience managing finance teams in the US and EU5.
* Strong technical accounting skills; able to liaise with auditors and technical stakeholders.
* Exposure to SOX controls and compliance; ability to collaborate with SOX leadership.
* Background in healthcare, software, or biotech industries is a plus but not required; a strong accounting foundation is paramount.
