Job Description
Job Purpose: The Bell Attendant is responsible for greeting guests, assisting with transportation to tourist areas, providing local information, and ensuring luggage delivery and retrieval in a courteous and professional manner.
Duties & Functions:
1. Greet guests and retrieve luggage.
2. Escort guests to rooms, explain facilities, and promote hotel outlets.
3. Deliver luggage, messages, and packages, and handle guest requests.
4. Transport departing guests’ luggage, ensuring all items are accounted for.
5. Store luggage safely and maintain the luggage area cleanliness.
6. Provide guests with knowledgeable information about the hotel and local area.
7. Be aware of hotel functions and events.
8. Drive safely and keep incident records.
9. Ensure guest safety and security during travel.
10. Provide friendly and attentive service.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Communicate effectively with team members and guests.
2. Remain calm during emergencies or busy periods.
3. Make decisions based on good judgment and experience.
4. Comply with operational policies including health, safety, and emergency procedures.
Supportive Functions
1. Attend meetings and participate in community events.
2. Use departmental software and keep work areas organized.
3. Handle confidential documents securely.
4. Demonstrate leadership and ensure policy compliance.
Other Duties
Support company culture and standards, and maintain attendance and flexibility to work varying schedules.
Safety Requirements
Use PPE as needed, report damages, and lift heavy packages safely.
Grooming/Uniforms
Maintain a neat appearance as per uniform guidelines.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 1-2 years in a customer service role, preferably in upscale hotels.
* Friendly, gracious demeanor.
* Ability to multitask and pay attention to details.
* Strong communication skills in English.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects.
* Flexibility to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
