Overview
Our client is establishing a new Computer Architecture Innovation Lab and is seeking highly accomplished Senior Researchers with deep expertise in multimodal artificial intelligence and large-scale AI systems. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to foundational research while shaping production-grade AI systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead advanced research in multimodal learning, including vision-language models (VLMs), video models, and multimodal agents.
* Design, train, and optimize large-scale multimodal models with a strong focus on performance, efficiency, and scalability.
* Propose, develop, and validate novel model architectures and learning algorithms.
* Build and maintain end-to-end AI training and inference pipelines, covering data preprocessing, distributed training, evaluation, and deployment.
* Collaborate with system architects, engineers, and cross-functional research teams to transition innovations from research into real-world applications.
* Contribute actively to and help lead open-source AI communities and projects.
Required Expertise
* Strong expertise in multimodal learning with hands-on experience in training
o Video understanding and generation models
o Deep understanding of Transformer-based architectures
Open-Source Contributions
* Demonstrated contributions to major open-source AI initiatives such as:
* HuggingFace Transformers
* LLaVA, BLIP-2, InternVL
* OpenMMLab, Diffusers
* Experience as an open-source maintainer or core contributor is highly desirable.
* Advanced proficiency in PyTorch and/or JAX.
* Strong experience with large-scale distributed training and inference frameworks.
* Proven ability to optimize AI performance across the software and hardware stack.
* Excellent engineering capability to build reliable, production-grade AI pipelines.
* Strong publication record in leading AI conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, EMNLP, and related venues.
* Demonstrated ability to independently drive original research, from ideation through experimental validation and publication.
Candidate Profile
* PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, with 8+ years of research and/or industry experience.
* Excellent English communication and technical documentation skills.
* Strong collaborator, comfortable working within interdisciplinary and global research teams.
* Highly motivated to advance the state of the art in AI systems and architecture.
