This role leads the operational and strategic integration of DePuy Synthes’ external manufacturing supply network, with a primary focus on strategic partnership with Jabil. /p pThe Director will lead a global, multi‑level organization that serves as virtual plant management for complex external manufacturing operations, ensuring reliable supply, strong quality performance, effective risk management, and cost competitiveness. They will represent DPS interests to strategic partners, develop and orchestrate solutions that maximize value for stakeholders, and foster relationships within the DPS franchise. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead and develop a multi‑level organization of approximately 15–20 associates across multiple locations, including direct and indirect reports, with accountability for performance management, coaching, and succession planning. /li liOversee a global footprint of external manufacturers, with primary focus on Jabil, to deliver service, quality, cost, analytics, risk management, supplier development, purchase order to goods receipt execution, and NPI launch readiness. /li liRepresent DePuy Synthes and EMSI interests with Jabil and other strategic external manufacturing partners, informing supply agreements and contractual terms that promote reliability, business continuity, and win‑win outcomes. /li liAlign with External Operations Planning to translate short‑, mid‑, and long‑term demand and capacity requirements into executable external supply plans that support global demand, inventory, and service targets. /li liLead the External Manufacturer Supplier SOP process and ensure outputs are integrated into the global supply plan and the end‑to‑end supply chain strategy for worldwide instrumentation. /li liProactively identify supplier constraints and extended supply chain risks that may result in service disruption and lead cross‑functional mitigation strategies to protect continuity of supply. /li liDrive supplier development and Operational Excellence initiatives to improve right‑first‑time performance, lead time, machine uptime, capacity readiness, on‑time delivery, and backorder reduction. /li liLead short‑term event management (STEM) and long‑term structural recovery efforts to address supply disruptions and systemic performance issues. /li liDefine and evolve EMSI integration within NPI, MA, and technology transfer processes to ensure launch readiness, seamless transitions, and continuity of supply. /li liPartner cross‑functionally with Source Category Management, External Engineering, Quality, Product Management, and Planning to clarify roles, prioritize resources, close change controls, and deliver the external supply network strategy. /li liOversee adherence to project, operating, and resource budgets; ensure compliance with Quality and EHSS requirements; and benchmark internal and external best‑in‑class practices to continuously improve external manufacturing capabilities. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 pbEducation /b /p ul liRequired: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS). /li liPreferred: Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field. /li /ul pbRequired Experience and Skills /b /p ul liMinimum of 10‑12 years of experience in supply network planning, external manufacturing, supplier management, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline. /li liProven experience leading global, matrixed, and virtual teams with direct accountability for results. /li liDirect oversight of strategic external manufacturing partners and complex supplier networks. /li liExperience operating in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive). /li liDemonstrated strength in cross‑functional collaboration, risk management, and long‑range planning. /li liStrong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. /li liSolid understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain planning, constraints, and analytics‑driven decision making. /li /ul pbPreferred Experience /b /p ul liMedical device industry experience. /li liDirect experience partnering with Jabil or other large global contract manufacturers. /li liBackground in Operational Excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). /li liDemonstrated success leading supplier capability development and continuous improvement initiatives at scale. /li /ul pbOther /b /p ul liLanguage: English required; additional languages preferred. /li liTravel: Approximately 10%, domestic and international, based on business needs. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunity Employer /h3 pJohnson Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
