What You’ll Be Doing
* Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, observes time limits for meal serving, and maintains foods at proper serving temperature.
* Assists cooks to clean and prepare uncooked food such as salads, vegetables, and fruits; follows basic instructions in preparing simple foods such as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.
* Clears plates and trays, loads and operates dishwasher, and cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.
* Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
* Adheres to established instinct policy, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control.
* Assembles nourishment carts and stocks unit kitchenettes.
* Participates in facility meetings as assigned and attends in‑service education programs.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What You Bring
* High School Diploma or Higher Academic Certification.
* Degree/Diploma in Nutrition or Food Service Program is an asset.
* Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience with institutional, health care, restaurant or hospitality food service environments is an asset.
* Must meet the physical requirements of the position (standing for long periods, moderate to heavy lifting, fast‑paced environment).
* Ability to read and write in English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English.
* Ability to work safely, कितना following established safety practices and procedures.
* Successful candidate must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
* Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
