The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship for Digital and Precision Laboratory Diagnostics.
We seek an expert in clinical chemistry with a dynamic, integrative personality and extensive scientific and clinical experience. The successful candidate will lead the future Institute for Digital and Precision Laboratory Diagnostics in research, teaching, and healthcare. The focus is on utilizing advanced technologies, including AI and big data, to enhance diagnostic testing accuracy, speed, and personalization at the molecular level.
Required qualifications include FAMH or an equivalent degree in Clinical Chemistry. FAMH in Immunology and Hematology are desirable.
The role involves managing an in-house research program, participating in medical education, and coordinating the mentorship of junior staff and specialists. The professor will also serve as managing director of the clinical chemistry laboratory and the automated clinical core lab at the University Hospital. Strong leadership, collaboration skills, and the ability to integrate across disciplines are essential.
An outstanding, internationally recognized research record in clinical chemistry and digital diagnostics, along with successful third-party funding acquisition, is expected.
The university offers a vibrant environment for innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration, with proximity to ETH Zurich. Proficiency in German at B2 level or higher is required or should be acquired within a reasonable timeframe.
