Primary Purpose: Develops and maintains HL7 FHIR-based Implementation Guides (IGs) for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; moves the IGs through the HL7 balloting and publication process. Updates and prepares technical artifacts throughout the IG lifecycle to become published HL7 FHIR IGs.
A Successful Candidate Will Do The Following
 * Participate in the technical development of FHIR IGs through hands-on work with FHIR IG technical files, proficiency with FHIR (specifically JSON), and tooling such as the FHIR IG Publisher, GitHub, and Jira
 * Create necessary HL7 artifacts for balloting and publishing FHIR IGs
 * Speak about technical topics on public HL7 Work Group calls
 * Translate data requirements into formal technical requirements for standards
 * Support solution design and implementation using existing APIs and other data-exchange solutions from electronic health record (EHR) vendors, public-health systems, and intermediaries
 * Survey existing standards; identify opportunities for re-use and creation of novel artifacts
 * Contribute to the development of internal and public-facing standards-based papers, presentations, blogs, and memos
 * Act as subject-matter expert for internal business-development activities
Requirements
 * Associate’s degree or higher in Healthcare, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
 * Eight (8) years’ relevant experience in healthcare, Healthcare IT, or related field
 * Proficiency with HL7 standards and associated HL7 processes
 * Experience implementing Healthcare IT solutions
 * Methodical, organized analytical skills
 * Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to translate highly technical concepts for any audience
Preferred Qualifications
 * Experience working with EHR-structured data and APIs
 * Experience validating clinical data
 * Experience in digital Quality Measure (dQM) development, evaluation, and implementation
 * Experience with Clinical Quality Language (CQL)
 * Experience working in a Healthcare-IT vendor setting (such as EHRs, medical devices, Healthcare Interface engines)
 * Proficiency applying XML Schema, XSLT transforms, and Schematron knowledge
 * HL7 certification in CDA or FHIR

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
