Luxtelligence is a fast-growing Swiss deep-tech startup spun out of EPFL in 2022. We’re building next‑generation photonic integrated circuits using breakthrough electro‑optical materials—especially thin‑film Lithium Niobate and Lithium Tantalate—to power the future of AI data centers, high‑performance computing, 5G/6G, microwave photonics, and quantum technologies.
With our own offices and labs and a tight‑knit team of 12, we’re entering a key growth phase and we’re now looking for a Chief Executive Officer to help us scale smartly and sustainably.
About the Role & the Moment Having established a strong scientific and technological foundation, Luxtelligence is now entering a new phase of its journey moving from an R&D‑driven startup toward scale‑up and commercialization. To lead this transition, we are seeking a new Chief Executive Officer who can guide the company through its next stage of growth.
The new CEO will drive the professionalisation of the organisation—setting the company's strategic vision, strengthening culture, governance, and execution—while keeping it close to new opportunities and amplifying what makes Luxtelligence exceptional: deep innovation, technical excellence, and an enduring entrepreneurial spirit.
This role is about building a company that can grow sustainably and combines visionary leadership, hands‑on execution, and deep collaboration with technical teams. You will work closely with the founders, board, and team to translate cutting‑edge technology into a robust, scalable business — creating clarity, alignment, and momentum as the organisation evolves.
Key Responsibilities Define and execute Luxtelligence’s long‑term vision, strategy, and roadmap
Position the company “close to the apple tree”, ensuring the company is consistently well positioned to anticipate, recognize, and rapidly capitalize on emerging opportunities—maintaining strategic proximity to key markets, technologies, and partners as they evolve.
Lead the transition from R&D‑driven organization to a commercially focused company
Build a strong, values‑driven company culture that supports excellence, innovation, and collaboration
Lead fundraising activities (venture capital, strategic investors, public funding)
Manage investor relations and work closely with the Board of Directors
Ensure sound financial planning, governance, and risk management
Build, lead, and inspire a high‑performance leadership team
Oversee operations and organizational scaling in collaboration with the COO
Create alignment between technical, commercial, and operational functions
Partnerships Build and manage strategic partnerships with suppliers, foundries, and key players to enable and accelerate execution of the business model
Influence key stakeholders and cultivate strong networks— ensuring Luxtelligence is deeply anchored in relevant ecosystems, markets, and partnerships
Profile We Are Looking For Experience Proven CEO, founder, or senior executive experience in a deep‑tech, semiconductor, photonics, or advanced hardware environment
Strong track record in scaling technology companies from early stage to commercialization
Experience with fundraising and investor relations is essential
Skills & Mindset Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution ability
Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
Ability to bridge advanced physics / engineering and business realities
High credibility with technical teams and external stakeholders
Comfortable operating in uncertainty and building structure as the company grows
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
Personal Qualities Entrepreneurial, resilient, and mission‑driven
Excellent communicator with strong leadership presence
Values integrity, transparency, and long‑term impact
Willingness to travel (20% of time)
