Financial Crime Risk Specialist (6-month fixed term contract)
Join us as a Financial Crime Risk Specialist working within our Private Bank and Wealth Management team based in Geneva.
The successful candidate will support the BBSA Financial Crime Risk unit, providing expert support to the business in periodic reviews, risk and issue management, and stakeholder management. The role may evolve during the contract, requiring resilience, flexibility and a strategic mindset to build a comprehensive view of the business and its interlinked controls.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Financial Crime, Risk and Controls, recent experience in Geneva and comparable Private Bank business knowledge.
You will take responsibility and accountability for decision making, evidenced through clear reporting and communication to manage risk, strengthen controls and support strategic goals. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key functional teams at all corporate grades are also desirable.
Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications
* Strong Financial Crime experience, including direct experience in Geneva and very good knowledge of Swiss rules and requirements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Ability to work collaboratively across stakeholders.
Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications
* Fluency in English and French (a plus).
* Private Bank or Wealth Management business knowledge.
* Relevant external qualifications.

Purpose of the Role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank’s internal control framework in order to support the mitigation of risk and protect the bank’s operational, financial, and reputational risk.
Accountabilities
* Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to assess risk.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to improve control effectiveness through documentation of assessments, procedures and findings.
* Identify and investigate potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls, promoting continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned with the bank’s control framework.
* Develop reports to communicate key findings, control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management and other stakeholders.
* Execute reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank’s internal controls framework against evolving policies, regulation and best practice.
* Implement adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology for assessing controls against the framework.
