SUMMARY
The Assistant Superintendent serves as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet and provides leadership, supervision, and support for all district principals and school leadership systems. This position is responsible for ensuring the consistent implementation of district priorities, instructional expectations, school improvement efforts, and operational practices across all schools. The position serves as the primary link between district strategy and school-level implementation, ensuring coherence in leadership, instruction, and student outcomes.
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for creating greater consistency, coherence, and accountability across the district's schools, working collaboratively with district administrators, principals, staff, and community partners to support continuous improvement and high levels of student achievement across the district.
This is an exempt position and is not represented by any bargaining unit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited university.
Minimum five years of successful experience as a building principal required.
Demonstrated success improving student achievement and leading school improvement efforts.
District-level administrative experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement systems.
Knowledge of effective school leadership, supervision, and personnel evaluation practices.
Knowledge of MTSS, student support systems, and organizational leadership.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, support, and hold others accountable.
Ability to lead large-scale change initiatives and system improvements.
Ability to build coherent systems and maintain alignment across multiple schools.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Skill in organizational leadership, strategic planning, change management, and conflict resolution.
Ability to analyze data and use information to improve student outcomes and organizational performance.
This is a 261-day contract; salary placement is dependent on education and experience.
