Position Summary
As a Real Estate Portfolio Strategy Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and executing ABB Switzerland’s real estate portfolio strategy, with a clear focus on investment, optimization, and divestment projects for ABB‑owned and leased sites. You will manage complex and often confidential initiatives, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders (Legal, Controlling, Accounting, Tax, Public Affairs) as well as external consultants, authorities, and transaction partners. Your ability to navigate financial, legal, and operational topics in parallel, while maintaining governance and timelines, will be critical to your success.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate and operational real estate optimization strategies, aligned with ABB’s business priorities and long‑term portfolio objectives.
* Lead, support, and supervise real estate investments and divestments across ABB‑owned or leased facilities, ensuring compliance with internal governance, approval processes, and risk management standards.
* Manage and coordinate external advisors and consultants throughout investment and divestment processes, including due diligence, property valuation, business cases, data room management, milestone planning, and contract negotiations. Act as a key interface with local authorities and external stakeholders during development, restructuring, or divestment activities.
* Prepare and present financial analyses, decision papers, and management reports for local and global senior management, ensuring transparency and compliance with applicable financial and reporting standards.
Qualifications
* Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate real estate, portfolio management, development, transactions, or a related field, with solid knowledge of the Swiss real estate and construction market.
* Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable discipline.
* Solid financial acumen, including the ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, evaluate investment and divestment business cases, assess risks and returns, and support fact‑based decision‑making at management level.
* Entrepreneurial, proactive, and service‑oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently in an evolving and demanding environment.
* Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence interacting at senior management level.
* Solid organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Fluency in German and English.
