We are an independently owned agency, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with a global presence of 60 offices in 31 countries.JOB OBJECTIVEThe senior accountant will report to the controller and be responsible for working with senior leadership and other finance talents to ensure accurate and timely financial close and reporting. The senior accountant is expected to exhibit the highest professional standards and attention to detail, while working on numerous routine month-end close processes and ad hoc accounting support functions.We are looking for a detailed-oriented talent who can work in a collaborative and independent setting with strong time management, work ethic, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare accurate complex account reconciliations and journal entries.Assist with various month-end processes, including reconciling and closing projects, reviewing reconciliations prepared by other talents and ensuring up-to-date documentation.Ensure consistency and accuracy across all accounting-related systems.Support invoice processing and payment application.Collaborate with senior management on various reporting requirements and special projects, including providing insights and recommendations for improvements.Manage invoicing for additional projects and respond to internal requests from other teams.Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits, tax filings and other regulatory requirements.Maintain up-to-date records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.Partner with division and business unit leaders to ensure accurate coding.Actively participate in building positive team culture at MCI USA and build strong relationships with division leaders, business unit leaders and all MCI USA talents.All other duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS2-4 years of related accounting and financial experienceBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA preferredSolid understanding of generally accepted accounting policiesExcellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to lead and manage multiple projects and work successfully within a geographically dispersed, matrixed environmentAbility to work cross-functionally at all levelsAdept time-management, organizational skills and strict attention to detailStrong sense of ownership, accountability and ability to work independentlySuperior analytical and problem-solving skillsPROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIESContinued participation in professional developmentSPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLSMicrosoft Office suite (advanced Excel proficiency required)ERP platform experience required; SAP experience preferredADDITIONAL LOCAL REQUIREMENTSOccasional travel to D.C. office for team meetings and engagement events#LI-RemoteBenefits SummaryMCI USA is an established, family-friendly company offering outstanding benefits and significant growth opportunities.PTO13 paid company holidays, including closure Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day401KMedical, dental, vision and supplementary insurancesEmployer-paid group life insurance, short-term and long-term disabilityEmployer-paid family building benefit (fertility, adoption and surrogacy)Employer-paid mental health benefitPet discount programPlease reach out even if you do not meet all the criteria but are willing to learn and commit to one of our great roles.
