Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Field IT Technician to provide on-site support for end-user devices and infrastructure across multiple locations. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills in Swiss German and English, and the flexibility to support VIP users with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, and peripherals (Windows environment).
* Provide support for printers, scanners, and related devices.
* Perform basic cabling tasks (patching, labeling, workstation connectivity).
* Deliver VIP support with high responsiveness, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
* Act as the first point of contact for end-user IT issues, escalating as needed.
* Support IT infrastructure moves, deployments, and upgrades.
* Maintain accurate records of installations, incidents, and service requests in the ticketing system.
* Collaborate with remote support teams and follow ITIL service management best practices.
* Ensure compliance with IT security and operational standards.
Requirements
* Travel Requirement: Regular travel to customer and internal sites
Education & Certification
* Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred).
* ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
Technical Skills
* Proven experience with Windows operating systems and end-user computing.
* Knowledge of printers, scanners, and workstation peripherals.
* Familiarity with basic networking and cabling practices.
* Understanding of IT service management processes (incident, request, escalation).
Soft Skills
* Strong communication skills in Swiss German (native/near-native) and English (fluent).
* Professional demeanor and ability to handle VIP/end-user interactions.
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
* Willingness and ability to travel regularly between sites.
