Overview OTC Trade Drafting and Confirmations Analyst — Location: Zurich, Switzerland • Type: Full-time • Department: Financial Markets
Responsibilities OTC Trade Drafting & Documentation: Draft bespoke and template-based OTC trade confirmations in line with ISDA definitions and market conventions; ensure confirmation language reflects trade terms and any negotiated clauses; collaborate with legal/compliance to validate terms.
Trade Validation & Confirmation: Verify trade economics and legal terms against front office systems; issue and match confirmations via platforms (e.g., MarkitWire, DTCC) and manual drafting as required; resolve discrepancies with front office, counterparties, and brokers.
Operational Risk & Controls: Monitor outstanding confirmations to meet deadlines; maintain audit trail; escalate unresolved breaks promptly.
Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure adherence to OTC derivative regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II) and jurisdictional requirements; support reporting obligations with accurate trade data.
Process Improvement & Technology: Identify opportunities to automate drafting processes and improve cycle times; participate in system enhancements, template updates, and UAT.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with traders, middle office, settlements, legal, compliance; engage with counterparty operations teams to resolve breaks.
Eligibility Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in OTC trade support, drafting, or confirmations within a bank, broker-dealer, or asset manager.
Strong understanding of OTC derivatives (e.g., interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, equity derivatives, FX options).
Working knowledge of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and ISDA definitional booklets.
Proficiency in industry confirmation platforms (e.g., MarkitWire, DTCC DerivSERV) and MS Excel; advanced Microsoft Office.
Automation skills (e.g., Alteryx, Python) a plus; languages: English (German or French a plus).
Open to working in other front-to-back office functions (e.g., settlements); exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to prioritize under tight deadlines; excellent verbal and written communication; proactive and collaborative.
