We at Swissblock are a private investment firm on a mission to lead the way in cross‑asset investing. With a keen understanding that timing is paramount, we employ a systematic approach that combines robust algorithmic trading with exhaustive cross‑asset market analysis.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an operations professional to join the existing team.
What you’ll be doing:
As an Operations Project Associate, you will support the Operations team across ongoing operational initiatives, process improvements, new project implementation, and selected BAU operational activities. The role combines hands‑on Operations support with project‑related work, particularly where process automation, data analysis, testing, and workflow improvement are required.
Your duties will include:
* Supporting the Operations team in daily operational workflows (both early and late shift), including trade capture, reconciliation, reporting, settlement follow‑up, and exception management.
* Providing backup support for BAU Operations activities when required, including daily trade checks, cash and position reconciliations, settlement follow‑up, reporting, and exception handling.
* Ensuring continuity of key operational processes during team absences, peak workload periods, or project implementation phases.
* Assisting with the development, testing, and enhancement of operational processes across trading, reconciliation, reporting, and control frameworks.
* Working closely with Operations and Technology to help automate manual workflows, improve data quality, and increase process scalability.
* Supporting new project rollouts by preparing test cases, performing user acceptance testing, documenting issues, and coordinating follow‑ups with relevant stakeholders.
* Helping to analyse operational breaks, data inconsistencies, and workflow inefficiencies, and proposing practical solutions.
* Preparing clear documentation of processes, controls, test results, and implementation steps.
What you’ll bring:
* Proven hands‑on experience in Operations, Trading Operations, Middle Office, or a similar financial services environment.
* Strong coding or scripting skills, ideally with experience in Python, SQL, VBA, or similar tools.
* A strong interest in operational automation, process improvement, and project implementation.
* Good understanding of trade lifecycle, reconciliations, settlements, cash movements, and operational controls.
* Ability to support BAU operational processes while also contributing to project and automation initiatives.
* Ability to work independently, investigate issues, and translate business requirements into practical operational or technical solutions.
* Strong attention to detail, structured working style, and ability to document processes clearly.
* Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Availability for a 6‑month contract and ad‑hoc late shift coverage.
Preferred experience:
* Experience with OMS platforms, reconciliation tools, broker/custodian portals, or trading‑related systems.
* Hands‑on exposure to financial instruments such as equities, futures, FX, OTC derivatives, CFDs, or fixed income products.
* Experience supporting system implementation, data mapping, UAT, or operational automation projects.
* Familiarity with reporting, exception management, margin/cash reconciliation, or regulatory reporting workflows.
* Prior experience in a hedge fund, asset manager, broker, bank, or trading environment.
What We Offer:
* Exciting role in a dynamic work environment with flat hierarchies, close collaboration with key decision‑makers, and a high degree of ownership
* Collaboration with a motivated, international team in the digital assets space
* Modern office in Baar + up to 2 days of remote work per week
* Attractive compensation package and competitive benefits
* 25 vacation days per year, pro rata.
* Company events, team outings & offsites
