* Supplier Sourcing and Selection (25%)
o Study and know well Oregon Tool products and required commodities.
o Implement and maintain global commodity strategies
o Research the market to make a landscape report for Oregon Tool outsourced commodities.
o Identify potential capable source with reasonable cost and organize initial assessment with identified potential source.
o Execute RFI and RFQ process with suppliers.
o Select right supplier for Oregon Tool based on Price, Quality, Logistic, Innovation, Risk result and with product owners, D&E, factories and Logistics to execute sourcing projects and NPI projects.
o Major source suppliers in China mainland, but target to expand the scope to whole Asia.
* Cost Management (25%)
o Responsible for total spend in purchasing with assigned supplier in accordance with goals
o Review requests, solicit bids and prepare documentation relative to supplier and prices for sourcing projects
o Should cost analysis on quotes and price and negotiate to achieve a reasonable competitive price.
o Use TCO mythology to implement global sourcing projects.
o Annual cost review with current suppliers, seek regular cost down opportunities.
o Work with global procurement team for resourcing projects to achieve cost saving target.
o Actively review global spending and product specifications, identify and propose cost saving opportunities to improve corporate EBIDTA.
o Maintain accurate price and vendor information in SAP system, make sure Transfer price are correctly calculated and maintained in US.
* Supplier Management (25%)
o Overall be responsible for suppliers’ commercial relationship management, to be the “owner” of a Suppliers contract and to act as an ambassador of Oregon Tool; both internally and externally.
o Negotiate and enter agreements with suppliers in accordance with Oregon Tool’s global sourcing strategy and policies, such as: NDA, Supplier agreement, Development agreement, Code of conduct etc.
o Be responsible for supplier performance management by using supplier Score card and supplier performance review tools.
o Regularly supplier base strategy review to determine business strategy with suppliers.
o Suppliers risk assessment and execute the mitigation plan.
o Continuously ensure that product quality from suppliers are in accordance with defined specifications
* Project Management (25%)
o To be the project leader for resourcing project, NPI project and cost saving project.
o Project input review
o Project schedule and milestone control.
o Project risk highlight and mitigation
o Regular project communication and reporting.
Education:
* Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering related: major in design, industrial, mechanical engineering preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
* 8-15 years’ experience within Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain or Purchasing, preferably in manufacturing
* Experience from working in an international environment with negotiating contracts, transfer of technical sourcing projects to China and developing strategic partnerships.
* Experience from Quality and/or Engineering positions earlier in the career is a plus
Skills/Abilities: Typical skills and abilities may include the following:
* Technical understand on normal manufacturing processes
* Capable to read and understand complex drawings
* Sensitive with raw material market changes
* Familiar with should cost analysis, TCO tools to do cost analysis.
* Big overall picture thinking
* Good negotiation skills
* Good communicator both verbally and in writing
* Aggressive and be able to challenge internal team member and suppliers
* Active, autonomous, unremitting
* Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
* Be able to make decision on vague business situation
* Team player
* Integrity personality
* Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel-with charting, PowerPoint, Access) and data management software (SAP preferred).
Availability:
* Available to work on site as required by job;
* eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.
