Lead the development of system architecture and integration for advanced UAV platforms while ensuring performance, compliance, and successful end-to-end system delivery.Your Role & ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain the overall aircraft system architecture, ensuring seamless integration of all subsystemsPerform functional decomposition of aircraft systems including avionics, propulsion, guidance and control systems, and payload integrationDevelop and manage top-level system requirements with full traceability to subsystem requirements and mission objectivesProvide oversight of Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and execution to ensure compliance with system-level requirements and industry standardsLead interface management across mechanical, avionics, software, and payload subsystemsEnsure compliance with UAV regulations and certification standards including SC Light UAS and applicable aviation requirementsCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams throughout the complete UAV development lifecycleGuide and mentor junior system engineers while fostering a strong systems engineering cultureCreate, maintain, and update systems engineering documentation including architecture models, interface control documents, requirement specifications, and design rationaleParticipate in risk assessments, safety analysis, and airworthiness activities to support robust and compliant system designsSupport cross-functional teams and international projects while ensuring high engineering standards and quality throughout developmentRequired Technical & Professional ExpertiseBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering10+ years of experience in aerospace or UAV systems engineering with strong expertise in system architecture, requirements management, and Verification & ValidationProven experience leading systems engineering teams and defining aircraft system architecturesStrong understanding of regulatory frameworks including SC Light UAS, CS-27, and aerospace certification environmentsExperience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar platformsFamiliarity with systems engineering standards including INCOSE, ISO 15288, and ARP4754AStrong knowledge of Verification & Validation planning, system testing, integration activities, and systems engineering processesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with the ability to balance technical rigor and practical engineering constraintsStrong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical documentationProactive mindset with the ability to drive system-level decisions and identify technical risks earlyStrong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and regulatory authoritiesProfessional English language skills (written and spoken); German is desirableEligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship required)
