As Project Lead Engineer, you will take overall technical leadership for complex projects in the chemical and process industries, ensuring that engineering activities translate into reliable, high-performance plant solutions. In this role, you will guide multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through commissioning, aligning technical execution with project targets for safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Acting as the central engineering authority, you will coordinate internal specialists, suppliers, and project stakeholders while ensuring that designs meet both customer expectations and applicable industry standards.
You will oversee the development and quality of key engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, equipment specifications, piping layouts, and construction documentation, ensuring technical consistency across the project lifecycle. A key part of your role will be reviewing supplier designs and workshop drawings, supporting procurement and fabrication phases, and providing technical guidance during assembly and commissioning. In addition, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards, helping to strengthen the company’s technical framework and drive efficient project execution.
To succeed in this position, you hold a degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related field and bring solid experience in plant engineering or chemical plant construction. You combine strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to structure and drive engineering work across teams. Experience with equipment and piping design, CAD tools, and MS Office is expected. Strong communication skills in English and a good working level of German are required, while international project exposure and hands-on experience in the chemical industry will be considered a strong advantage.
If you’re looking for a role where your engineering decisions truly matter—where your ideas accelerate progress, improve systems, and directly shape how modern plants operate—this position offers an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level.
