The Plant Manager provides direction and leadership to Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Human Resource, and Quality departments. This role supports corporate profit objectives through continuous improvement in machinery, practices, and procedures that reduce product costs, maintain consistently high product quality standards, and enhance employee satisfaction. This role also provides leadership that directly impacts improvement programs and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information to adhere to safety policies, SES EHS pillar, and reports safety outcomes in a timely fashion. Leads safety by example.
Provide sound budgeting and planning for the manufacturing and support operations.
Ability to manage and lead in a Lean environment.
Ensure customer satisfaction and trust regarding product quality and on-time performance.
Ensure optimum effectiveness in scrap control and manufacturing efficiency (OEE), and costs.
Ensure effective Product Safety environment with adherence to US FDA, Dairy, HACCP, SQF, ISO 54001 and all other agreed upon product safety requirements.
Provide the leadership that supports our Quality Systems inclusive of efforts regarding Customer Required Systems.
Foster an environment of open communications and trust with all employees.
Conducts management meetings with plant personnel to establish, delineate, and review policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures to attain objectives.
Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team.
Keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Facilitates employee teams to build cohesiveness and improve the overall results of the respective teams’ tasks.
Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of various work processes of the company.
Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
Actively participate in capital planning, implementation, and new product development efforts.
Ensure effective personnel orientation, training, and development programs.
Establish operating indicators (metrics) which clearly measure departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to upper management and critical customers.
Responsibilities for supervising direct reports include hiring, and training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills, Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in a Business Management or Technical field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Four (4) to seven (7) years related management experience.
